The Black Nurses Rock Foundation recognizes and understands the challenges facing our members, and we are working tirelessly on your behalf. We recognize the hardships that COVID-19 may have imposed on both your personal and professional lives.
To make things easier, we are offering our members an easy, automatic renewal option with all our membership levels when you choose a debit or credit payment option on our website. The $50 Biannual Membership will automatically renew every 6 months, while all other memberships will automatically renew one year from your expiration date.

September 23, 2020 (Glen Ellen, CA) – The DAISY Foundation™ and Black Nurses Rock Foundation (BNRF) announced their mutual support today.
The DAISY Foundation is excited to welcome BNRF to The DAISY Community of Supportive Associations and believes their partnership is a perfect fit to mutually support health equity initiatives including recognizing nurses around the world who deliver compassionate care to the most vulnerable communities. The DAISY Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, by members of his family. Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. (DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.) The care Patrick and his family received from Nurses while he was ill inspired the creation of The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary
Nurses, an evidenced-based means of providing Nurse recognition and thanking Nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.

Congratulations to Dr. Bruce Walker as the 2nd National President for Black Nurses Rock!
Dr. Bruce Walker has been a faithful member of BNR for 4 years and a founding board member.
He has over 20 years of experience as a healthcare professional and currently provides consulting services in rehabilitation medicine and hospital management in Louisiana. Dr. Walker started his working career as an Engineer but later realized his calling to the nursing field. In 1996, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and his Master of Science Nursing Degree in 2002 from Southern University. In 2017, he received an honorary doctorate in 2017 along with his chaplain’s license.
Dr. Walker is committed to bringing over 20 years of nursing experience and dedication to Black Nurses Rock. His primary commitment to the innovative and exciting organization is to make himself and his experience available to the Executive and General Board Members as well as to the General Membership.
Dr. Walker’s vision for BNR includes continuing to provide resources and a platform that will enable nurses across the world to deliver healthcare to the most vulnerable communities.
